No, but showing up at 5pm is a good solution
Sushi bar yes, not a cocktail bar.
They do. It's pricey, but it's really good
Fish is really fresh and well made, some of the waiters are also friendly. 2 waitresses are discriminatory, they treat white people very friendly and polite, but treat mixed / Asia couple very rude, I didn’t feel welcomed there, will not go back.
I love this place. The family that runs it is so kind. Fantastic vegetable tempura. And always pretty fast.
Small rustic(?) Cafe. My sushi-loving companions were very pleased with freshness and varieties. I had a noodle bowl which was very good!
I ate the "small" chef's sushi plate. LOTS of tasty food (including appetizers and some fried tofu on the house) and a nice variety of fish. A bit too much wasabi on the sushi for my taste, but still delicious. The rolls on my friend's chef's plate wasn't as tasty as my rolls (he had the big chef's plate). On the downside, my boyfriend had to ask the staff for the same thing three times, and not all guests at the table's' dishes were served at the same time.
Great Japanese cuisine. Food, preparation and table service were all very good. Sashimi dinner and tempura-fried spicy tuna roll are both amazing.
I love the family owned atmosphere at Toyoda. The service is great, and the quality is awesome! One of my favorite sushi places in Seattle.
My neighborhood sushi place. Owners are amazing and the fish is so well prepared. Their miso is better than most. I do always have to get the smaller size of everything because their portions are huge. It's a very small spot and they do a good job getting people squeezed in. I usually park behind the Elliot Bay and go between the buildings.
Not sure what the hype is. Sushi could be better. Service truly left much to be desired. Waited 20 minutes for our check and then an additional 20 minutes for it to be brought back, while tables around me ate and left before I was served my food. We ordered 3 small plates and they were brought out 15 minutes apart.I expected much better and would recommend bringing your business elsewhere.
You will taste the difference in the quality and freshness of their ingredients. Everything is made with a dash of love.
I've been a patron of this establishment since my teens. The vibe is exactly the same...fun, lively, very friendly, and we always finish our meal very satisfied. The half order of sashimi is usually enough for my partner and I, plus one or two extra if we are famished. We do tend to prefer sitting at the bar and interact with the head and sous chefs.
Going to have to go against the grain with all the reviews I see on google. Toyoda Sushi has been on the top of my list to visit based on all the reviews, it seemed to be up there with sushi kashiba/ shiro's, but just like all the sushi places in Seattle, they have been a disappointment. Is the fish fresh, yes. Is the fish more special or flavorful, no. I don't think that they are preparing the fresh any more different than your local sushi restaurant. Unlike Nobu's Sugarfish, they dont offer any special in house soy sauce or special umami sauce over the nigiri's. I think we can all agree that fish is fish, and what makes a restaurant truly special is the way they prepare the raw ingredients. A lettuce is a lettuce, but its the dressing that can really enhance the flavor profile of the ingredient, and I just don't think Toyoda Sushi does that.
The food was excellent but the service was terrible. There were eight of us and we received our food all at different times and in different prices. Those of us who ordered combos got brought our meals in parts up to twenty minutes apart. It was forty minutes from when the first of the food arrived until the last of it came out. Also whenever we needed something we had to ask multiple times. The food was all very good and everyone enjoyed their meals. The other issue was the people waiting for tables or take out were crowding the tables near the door.
Great family style sushi restaurant. The sushi is fresh and tightly packed. This place is legit! All the dishes are good, so you really can't go wrong. Besides the food the service is also great. It's always kinda busy, but the wait is never unreasonable. Toyoda Sushi is easily in the top 10, likely within the top 5 sushi joints in the Seattle area.
Went out on a very busy Sunday for these folks, and decided to take some sushi to go. Had their spicy tuna and California maki. Both were delicious and fresh! Miso soup was also good. Hoping to try eating here on a day that's less busy for them. Staff who helped me were kind and polite too!
Delicious sushi and fast friendly service. Complimentary miss soup and a salad greet you when you are seated. Their sushi was fresh and they have many options to please everyone. Caterpillar roll was my favorite. Inside is small but cozy, a nice retreat from the busy street. They have tables and a sushi bar. I went on a Thursday and it was not too busy.
Always get the Sashimi! So fresh and tasty. I'm sad to be moving away from the area because this is my favorite sushi place!
Love, love, love this place! I would recommend Toyada to anyone who's going to ask me where to go for some really delicious sushi. I ordered the tempura Philli roll, the spicey tuna bowl, the California, and for dessert, we got tempura icecream. The roll that I ordered in the cone shape is the Negi Toro. Everything was so good and made well. The quality felt high. In addition, the ambiance here is perfect and homey (just like what everyone else is saying). Overall, I had no complaints with my experience. I have finally found the sushi place that I've been searching all over for since I've moved here to WA.
The most disgusting sushi i've ever eaten. The products from which they were prepared were no fresh. It was awful. I do not advise anyone to buy here.
Great food. Friendly service. Food came out fast on a packed Friday night.
Truly delicious sushi. Small, homey restaurant. Over the past couple of years, several times I've found the restaurant unexpectedly closed. Many other restaurants in the area, but if you're traveling from afar and want only really good sushi, you might wish to call first to confirm that they're open.
This spot is worth a try. They have big portions for fair prices. Constantly well kept and with great mood. Will come visit again.
Still our favorite restaurant -- for sushi but in general as well ... cause the food and the selection and the service are all outstanding, every time. We especially love that's this place is all about family.❤️ We've been coming here since the early '90s, WOW. Happy birthday, Toyoda!
Im never disappointed when I order the sashimi platter , chefs choice. More plentiful than a sushi sampler even the small is good for two , we also had tempura , very good.
Amazing food, excellent service! Couldn't have asked for a better experience! The takoyaki was the shining star of the meal!
I almost don't want to review this place because it means more of you will be going to it but it is awesome they load you up with so much buttery delicious fresh fish and all the hot meals we saw come out looked extraordinarily good. It's tiny so if it's a Friday or Saturday night you might be looking at a wait.
I'm not a sushi expert, but my fiancee has enjoy tons from all over the world. We both enjoyed it. The service and quality of food was amazing. As far as pricing. You pay for what you get. Theres a reason this place was rated #1 sushi in Seattle.
The best sushi in the North end. Always busy and high quality fish and service. I love coming here
This man is amazing! The fish so fresh😋😍
Great service! First time going in and I felt as if I've been a regular for years! Great food and wonderful atmosphere 😁👍
Went there and got to sit at the bar. James gave me and my husband a fabulous assortment! We told him to surprise us and that we like salmon and rolls. He kept a great pace and everything was delicious!
Better than the finest 5 star restaurant in Houston! The chef is a master with his freshest ingredients. Melts in your mouth, flavors explode. You will not regret coming here, this will be your favorite place. So so happy. :)
Our favorite place for sushi, me and my partner are totally addicted- we can't eat sushi anywhere else. We've been coming here at least once a week since we discovered this little gem. Fish is always extremely fresh in here, all the flavors and tastes are very naturally strong, yum! The atmosphere is very homey and cosy, we love all the family and staff. They serve miso soup and noodle salad as a compliment before your meal. Anastasia
I have been to many sushi restaurants in seattle and this place is on my top 3. Great selection of sushi that is fresh and delicious. Generous portions. Free complementary soup and salad is a bonus. Friendly staff and chef who enjoys every second of his career is what makes this local restaurant a top.sushi restaurant in my.mind.
Stellar sushi and great service! Make sure to get here early though as it can get crowded. Their tuna is amazing.
Better than I have ever had before! I've been to Japan, L.A., New York, Houston, and this family restaurant that focuses on gratitude, passion, and deliciousness bests all humbly. With a rich history and a dream they have served me sushi that leaves me breathless. Smooth, fresh, and flavorful. I will never forget the 6 dishes I've had here, every dish equally phenomenal in taste and simple is presentation.
The sushi is so fresh and delicious! The service was quick. I love that it's family owned and staffed. I definitely recommend it! I didn't try any of the non-sushi menu items, but I'm going to go back another time (and several more times after that haha!).
Not sure about all these great reviews. Service was ok but the sushi felt like the kind you would get at a buffet. I ordered salmon sashimi along with some rolls. The salmon looked like it was salmon scraps thrown on a plate. Rolls were prepared a bit nicer but again everything tasted like buffet quality sushi. If you’re looking for quality, don’t come here. There are plenty of other places. If you’re looking for affordable sushi, head to a buffet with sushi instead. At least you can get all you can eat with the same price.
Fresh fish but pretty average everything else. Agagashi tofu has good breading, but the sauce is below average for being too salty. It resembles a dipping sauce versus an essential component of this dish. At other restaurants the sauce is light and tasty enough that makes you want to drink the whole thing. Free miso and cold udon, so that's nice. But in general, average sushi rolls.
Busy and bustling sushi spot! Fresh fish at a great price. Great service.
Complimentary soup and salad was a good starter. The salad can use a bit mayo but can't complain since it's complimentary. We also got agedashi tofu on the house as well! It was the best agendashi tofu I have ever had. They used bread crumb in the batter. We also got a small poke, and it was not so small. It was HUGE. I would definitely be back.
